Overview:

Cryptanthus, commonly known as Earth Star plants, are compact bromeliads prized for their bold, star-shaped rosettes and striking foliage patterns. This mini mixed selection may include a range of colours and markings, from greens and silvers to pinks, reds, and striped forms.

Supplied in a small 5 cm size, Cryptanthus are ideal for terrariums, plant cabinets, or as colourful accent plants in indoor displays. Their low, spreading growth habit makes them perfect for adding texture and contrast at ground level.

Care and Growth:

Cryptanthus prefer bright, indirect light to maintain strong colouration, though they adapt to moderate light conditions. Keep the soil lightly moist and avoid waterlogging. Unlike many bromeliads, Cryptanthus do not form a central water cup and absorb moisture primarily through their roots.

Growth is slow and compact. Mature plants may produce small offsets, which can be left to form clusters or separated once established.
